Black Sheep

We are moving out of the big smoke and heading to live in Swaledale. The home of black Swaledale sheep and most importantly black sheep beer. The place is stunning and quiet. It was even featured on Top Gear last night.
The best part of the dales however would be the beer/Ale and the great pubs and large meals to be had there. Places worth a visit will are the Farmers Arms in Muker. Tan Hill and the loan pub there.
Also the CB Inn on the other side of Swaledale. I hope to visit all these places soon and write a few dining reviews.

The FA Cup Final

Have just finished watching the FA cup final against Liverpool and West Ham United. Now being from New Zealand and growing up watching Rugby I am not one for watching any sort of football.
Mainly due to the fact that you can invest 90 minutes of your time watching a game that results in a nil all draw. Not alot of action really.
That a side I must say this was a game worth watching. 3-3 and then Liverpool snatching victory in the penalty shoot out.
West Ham the 5-1 underdogs scored twice in the first 25 minutes. One of the goals was an own goal.
Liverpool came back and equalised. Then a West Ham player crossed the ball and by some fluk missed timed it and it went over the goalies head and went in.
3-2 West Ham.
With 4 minutes of extra time to play the Liverpool Skipper scores to level it.
Extra time and a penalty shot out. Liverpool seal the victory 3-1 in the penalty shot out.
Lets hope the coming World Cup is this exciting.

iWeb

I am currently using a great apple application called iWeb to redo a website that has needed updating and a few changes. I was messing around and trying to learn CSS and XHTML whilst using a program called Rapid Weaver. Alas that all proved a little to difficult for now and I resorted to iWeb to get a great quick and easy website up on the web fast.
The website I have re done is www.esconnzdido.co.nz
It is a holiday home in Paihia, Bay of Islands, New Zealand available for short term rental.
One of the problems I now face is trying to add the Meta data to the site. Every time I alter the code in the index/home HTML file it seems to effect the CSS on that page.
We shall endeavor to sort out this problem soon.

Why?

I originally started this blog with the intention of learning about blogging and posting things that interest me. This was a short lived exercise. Thus the second attempt has been a little morre focused.
I am going to write about my small familes 5 months of travel to England and the area surrounding where we will be living, Swaledale. I hope to make a few visits to various pubs, sites and places of interest and report on them.
To sponsor my efforts and obtain enough funds to buy the odd beer or two I intend to add a Paypal donate button and google adsense.
After reading many of the posts and FAQ I have realised that I can not currently place adverts or a donation button due to the Java scripting. No problem, that may be a furture plan.
